Štěpánka lookout tower

The oldest lookout tower in the Jizera Mountains stands on Hvězda hill above Příchovice, about 1.3 km from the chalet as the crow flies. The 24-metre stone tower was built in stages between 1847 and 1892 and reopened after reconstruction in summer 2021.

On a clear day you can see across the Jizera Mountains to the Krkonoše. It's an easy half-day walk through the forest.

Cimrman Lighthouse and museum

The wooden Jára Cimrman Lighthouse, designed by architect Martin Rajniš, stands right in Příchovice in the U Čápa resort. Its viewing platform is at 803 m above sea level, 115 steps up. At its foot is the first official Jára Cimrman museum, dedicated to the much-loved fictional Czech genius.

You can walk there from the chalet, so it makes a good short afternoon outing.
